A Supercar ‘double’ exposure for you today.
Did you know the proper title for the series is in fact “Mike Mercury in Supercar”?
In the shows titles it does say “Mike Mercury in” but on a seperate slide to the “Supercar” one.
The programme title is stated in full as “Mike Mercury in Supercar” on all three series production agreements.
Thats right, I said “THREE” series. Most people think there were two series of Supercar, this is wrong.
There were production agreements covering three sets of 13 episodes.
Although production of the second season carried on right after the first batch of 13 was completed, it does not alter the fact that there were three series of 13 episodes produced, each covered by a seperate production agreement.
Dont believe it? well here is the cover for the third of the production agreements.
It clearly states THIRD SERIES of THIRTEEN films and with the full series title of “MIKE MERCURY IN SUPERCAR”.
The agreements were made on 9th August 1960, 22nd December 1960 & 30th August 1961 as stated in this agreement page.
You heard it here first, and look out for more investigations soon.
