This mini tape recorder only featured in the second season of Thunderbirds in the epsiode ‘Path of Destruction’.
It was used by Lady Penelope to record the shut down procedure of the Crablogger machine from its inventor Jim Lucas.
It was in fact a small hand held dictation machine made by German manufacturer Grundig.
Its next appearance was in UFO , used by the Doppelganger version of Ed Straker in ‘Reflections in the Water’
